Here’s a link to This I Believe. We’ll write a series of essays based on this program, so it would be a good idea to read and listen to some of the models that they’ve posted on their web site.  Your first two essays are due (one on 3/23 & one on 3/26).

Finish reading the book by the time we leave for spring break. Read the following chapters by the due dates:

• Polemic: Industrial Tourism and the National Parks (pp. 39-59) for 3/22.
• Down the River (pp. 151-195) for Monday, 3/26

Complete three posts:

• summarizing last night’s writing, comment on the Teens plugging in article from the Tribune, or a current feed on Google Reader
• write to someone who’s commented on one of your entries
• join the “How am I doing?” community and make a post
• some students in Michigan asked us to comment on their podcasts

For Tuesday, 3/20: Write a 250-word response to a quote that you chose from your reading. The quote should be at the top of the page, and the rest of the response using that as a starting point for your reflection.

Write two Shakespearean sonnets for Monday, 3/19. Also, print out your explaining a concept essay.

For Thursday: buy the book, Desert Solitaire, for Thursday’s class if you don’t already have it.

By now, you should have entered your blog entry on the questions the student in New York asked about living in Utah.

On Tuesday, March 13, write a post about something you read in a current news feed from Google Reader.
