For today’s class we will create a blog post that has text, image, and audio.

1. read over all the blog posts you’ve done so far.  Identify the topic that most interests you.
2. post a new entry in your blog on Youth Voices that has

• a snippet
• an image from a copyright-friendly site
• an audio file that explains why you’re interested in this topic

• Keep reading 1984.
• Bring Dead Man Walking book for Monday’s class.  I’ll be handing back the essay.
• Answer “Shooting an Elephant,” questions 1-8 for Tuesday.

Interview someone outside of this class who is well-read and ask them to recommend some good books for you to read. Write up the interview as a feature story. Here are some questions you could ask your subject:

• Why do you read as much as you do?
• What are some of the best books you’ve ever read?
• Why did you like them?
• What books would you recommend that I read?
• Why do you think I would like them?

Timetable

• Interview story and book brought to class on Monday, November 5.
• Book is read by Monday, December 3.
• Follow Up interview is due Friday, December 7.
• In class writing assignment on Friday, December 7.
