For Thursday, read the introduction to chapter 20, pages 484-491 in Models for Writers. In class on Friday we started brainstorming topics for problem-solution writing in the writers notebook.

For Monday, look over the poems on Poetry Out Loud and do the assignment that will help you choose the poem you’ll eventually memorize and perform.

Contests for student writers was introduced. You’ll enter a writing contest shortly. If you want to enter a writing contest of your choice, let me know what it is.

Be prepared to discuss and write about Prejean’s techniques in the book Dead Man Walking for this Thursday and Friday in class.

We’ll begin reading Henry IV, Part I on Monday.  Read all the introductory materials by Thursday, 1/15, and record what you learned through the reading in your writers notebook.
