The swine flu is cutting into our test prep time for the May 13 AP English Language exam.  Until we get back in the classroom, review these resources.

analytical research paper

Write an analytical research paper of approximately 1,500 words which incorporates at least seven sources which have been published since August, 2008. One of these sources must be an interview with an “expert.” The paper must be based on your own inquiry questions, and on a topic you’ve been composing on Youth Voices. Use MLA format. The paper is due Monday, April 6.

Desert Solitaire

Read the first five chapters of Desert Solitaire, up to and including the chapter titled “Polemic: Industrial Tourism and the National Parks” for next week’s block period.

finish reading Henry IV

Finish reading the play for Tuesday/Wednesday block period, The Henry IV comparison essay draft due 2/23; final draft due block day of the following week.  There will be another quote quiz on the first day of class after Presidents Day. Read “Down the River” for 2/22.

This week in AP

For Monday, February 2 read pages 75-83 in Frames of Mind and complete the questions on page 83 in your Writers Notebook. For Thursday, complete activities on page 84 & 85, and bring Frames of Mind and your writers notebook with you to class.

For Tuesday/Wednesday: Bring a printout of your poem to class with you and read Act 3 in Henry IV.

Read through Act 2 for Monday.  Pay particular attention to your group’s parts in Act 2, scene 3 and Act 2, scene 4.
